TAP’s Animated Storytelling Series consists of community-based groups for creatives (ages 15-24). Participants engage in free therapeutic and informational sessions where they work as a team to tell their story and learn various aspects of the animation pipeline.
Participants work as a team to produce an original, computer animated video
Classes are led by a creative arts therapist and a professional animation teaching artist
Young people explore professional 3D computer animation software
Participants explore new ways to make decisions and practice impulse control through story development and production
Young people explore new education and career options
Participants learn financial wellness while earning an incentive for each group.
Production concludes with a public screening of the animation

Thanks to our partnership with the Mayors Office of Media and Entertainment and the Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON), TAP offers in-person Animated Storytelling groups at NeON locations in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Participants earn $15 for every group attended.
